Windows 10: video card crashed and it was reset

my setup it is a Alienware 15 r2 i74710hq GTX 980m 12gb ramI am trying to play sea of thieves and grounded in the Microsoft game pass the problem is my graphics card driver probably cause the game didn't open at first time I was in a very lower version of the driverI already updated several times and used lower versions of the graphics card as well, formated my laptop, reinstalled the game, updated my windows and even cleaned my laptopIt happen after 30-1hr gaming games just crashed with this message I don't know if is a hardware problem cause some games work just fine I having this problem

Video card driver crashing when playing games

We suggest that you rollback your driver. To do so, kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R to open run dialog box.
• In the dialog box window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
• Right click on your video card driver -> Properties ->
  Driver tab and select Rollback driver.

If the issue persists, it could be better to contact the developer of the game.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Dual video card laptops and Windows 10 upgrade

From the description I understand that system is not switching to the fasted video card which is Radeon 7600.

I suggest you to uninstall the current video card from device manager and install Radeon 7600 manually and check if this helps.

To uninstall from device manager follow these steps:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click
  Device Manager.
• Expand ‘Display Adapters’.
  
• Right click on the video driver and click on
  uninstall.
• Now install Radeon 7600 and check.
