  1. Video/Monitor Settings

I have an Intel NUC, provided to my by my work, that is connected to a Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box via Thunderbolt. The breakaway box has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB GPU installed. This is connected to an Acer SA230 1080p monitor via HDMI.

I am just setting this system up to be my work computer, and in doing so I have applied every update for Windows and NVIDIA I can find.

The problem I am having is when I unplug the HDMI from the NUC and plug it into the breakaway box the desktop screen is acting like it is a second monitor. Any running apps, with open windows, are off the screen and I can not get to them. I can see them running in the Taskbar. If I launch a new app it will open, but will be off the screen. I can not interact with any apps. Also, if I plug the HDMI into the breakaway box, with everything powered down, then power on the system the monitor is not recognized and nothing appears on the screen. Very occasionally if I unplug the HDMI and plug it into the breakaway box the desktop will show up properly. This will work until I need to restart then I am back to square one.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    :)
