Windows 10: Video playback, Dual Monitor, freezes when playing 2 videos in full screen mode.

I have a AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Processor and AMD Radeon RX 6800 GPUAll my drivers are up to date and this has been happening for a while now, over 6 months and it is really frustrating because I need to play full screen videos for work. I have 2 LG 1440p monitors with 1 144hz and the other 60hz. When I play any videos from any web browser in full screen at the same time the videos freeze up until I exit the full screen mode.I can play 1 in full screen and the other in the browser window which works fine, but as soon as I try to play the second in full screen they both lock up and give me swirly sy

• Which application you are using to play the video?
• What is the format of the videos you are trying to play?
• Does this happens with all other videos as well?

This issue might be due to outdated or corrupted graphic card drivers. Let's try the below steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: Run Video Playback Troubleshooter.

I suggest you to run the Video Playback
Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run
Video Playback troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Video Playback
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update your graphic card drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Search for Display Adapters.
  
• 
  Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.

Video playback issue on external monitor

Hello,

I've got an issue with some videos that are not being played on my external monitor.

I have Dell Inspiron 7567 laptop and Dell P2213t monitor connected via DVI-D to HDMI cable.

Some videos just won't work on the external monitor, while on laptop there is no problem with playback. Audio is also good.

The frame of video just freezes on the monitor.

This issue is found only on a part of videos/websites. Maybe it is a problem of codec or something.

Does anyone know what is up with that monitor? is it software issue or harware/cable issue?

In order to have a better clarity on the issue you’re facing, please help us with following information:

• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Which application are you using to play the videos?
  
• Does this happen on every video (local and online)?
  

Video playback issues can at times be application specific. You may want to try playing videos on a different application and check if the issue persists. If it does, I suggest you to try the methods listed below and check if it works:



Method 1

Run Video Playback troubleshooter:

• Search for Troubleshoot Settings
  from the Start menu and open the same.
  
• Under Find and fix other problems, locate
  Video Playback and click on the same.
  
• Choose Run the troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.
  
• Exit Settings and try playing a video now to see if the issue persists.
  

Method 2

Uninstall and re-install graphic card drivers:

• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Display Adapters, right click the existing driver and choose
  Uninstall.
  
• Check the box Delete the driver software for this device
  and click on OK.
  
• Reboot the machine for Windows to automatically install the drivers.
  
• Try playing a video now to see if the issue persists.
  

Method 3

Update graphic card drivers:

• Right click the Windows icon on the taskbar and choose
  Device Manager.
  
• Expand Display Adapters, right click the existing driver and choose
  Update driver.
  
• Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver, exit
  Device Manager, and check if the issue persists.
  

If the above methods do not resolve the issue, I suggest you to install the latest graphics card drivers from the
Acer and check if it works.
