Windows 10: Video playback is spotty

I was having problems in Windows 7 so I updated and have the same issues. Music video seem to play just fine in "Movies & TV" or Windows media player but other videos like movies that I download might start off fine but start acting like they are buffering. The same videos I can play just fine off websites. Windows help said the compression might be wrong but I couldn't follow it's directions. My pc didn't match what they were saying. At times, Explorer will hang up " Not Responding" as well. Help?

P.S. I got my Windows 10 off the microsoft website

I suggest you to run the Video Playback
Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run
Video Playback troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar and select it.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Video Playback
  troubleshooter.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Step 2: Also, I suggest you to update your graphic card drivers.

I suggest you to update graphic drivers and check if it helps. Follow the steps given below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X key and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Search for Display Adapters.
  
• 
  Right-click on the graphics
  card and click on Update driver software.

All Video playback choppy
