Video section of my This PC turned into my OneDrive as a shortcut entirely when trying to...

I was attempting to get my videos over to one drive to I simply copy and pasted all of them into OneDrive. Which left the folder empty. After doing this, my original section for Videos turned into my OneDrive entirely! I cannot restore it to a previous version as none are in my file history and the location cannot be repealed due to files being from my OneDrive. Please help!

    :)

Image Shortcuts in OneDrive not displaying image

    Hello Marcel,

Thank you for posting here in Microsoft Community.

This behavior is different between shortcuts on OneDrive and local disks because OneDrive uses a different thumbnail caching mechanism than the local disk. For me to have a better view of your concern, I'd like to confirm few details:

    • Is it only specific to this .JPG files?
    • Are the files locally saved also on your OneDrive folder?

To force shortcuts to image files on OneDrive to show thumbnails, you can try the following steps:

    1. Right-click on the OneDrive folder where the image file and shortcut are located.

    2. Select "Properties" from the context menu.

    3. Click on the "Disk Cleanup" button under the "General" tab.

    4. Check the box next to "Thumbnails" and click "OK".

    5. Wait for the cleanup process to complete.

    6. Open the OneDrive folder and check if the thumbnail for the shortcut is now displaying the image.

If the above steps do not work, you can try check if the display file icon is turned on:

    1. Open File Explorer and click the View tab.

    2. Click on the Options, under the Folder Options, go to the View tab.

    3. Uncheck the Always show icons, never thumbnails.

    4. Tick the Display file icon on thumbnails.

Here also things you can check:

    • If you're using a PC/Mac, ensure your computer's File Explorer/Finder view is set to medium-sized icons (or larger
    • If File Explorer/Finder thumbnails still don't show, enable "Always keep on this device" for the file.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,

Favourites in IE11 and Edge 13.10586 showing entire contents of OneDrive

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

    A quick question before proceeding:

Is it showing links for all the files or only for the favorites inside OneDrive folder?

Mehod1: I would suggest you to turn off the sync setting for Favorite under browser settings and then try deleting the favorites. Refer to the link to do so:

Refer to the section “To choose which settings to sync”:

You will need to turn off web browser setting under
    other settings;

inside the search box in Start menu. Click on Programs and Features.

    • Select “Turn Windows feature on or off” option from the left panel.

    • Uncheck “Internet Explorer 11” option from the list and click “OK”.

    • Restart the computer.

Method 3: If issue still persists, I suggest you to put all your favorites in a temporary folder and save. Now
Then uninstall OneDrive and reinstalled it and verify the result.
