    Videos stop playing

I've downloaded some podcasts from Microsoft's MSDN website to my Lumia 900. They are in MP4 format. Often, the videos stop playing part way through and a message pops up saying: 'Can't play this video type'. Yeah, well you've been playing it for fifteen
    minutes already...

At first I thought the download was corrupted, but I found I can hit the play button, forward the progress bar to the point the video stopped and it will continue playing. Some videos have stopped once only, and then will play through to the end. Others
stop half a dozen times before I can get them to finish playing.

    Any ideas to fix this?

    Thanks,

    video not playing

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    1. May I know, which video player you are using to play the video?
    2. Are you able to play the video on any other computer?
    3. Are you facing the issue with only specific video or with all the other videos?

This issue could also occur when the USB or SD card is corrupted when you have transferred the video.

Try the troubleshooting methods provided below to further narrow down the root cause of the issue.

Method 1: Try a different video player.

    1. Try to use a different USB to transfer the video, if you are playing it on other computer or device.
    2. I suggest you to try a different video player and check if it plays.
    3. You can also check on different device or computer.

Step: Run Windows Media player troubleshooter.

    1. Press Windows + R key on your keyboard together.
    2. Copy and paste the below command and run each at a time and follow the onscreen instruction on the troubleshooter
    3. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic
    4. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerLibraryDiagnostic
    5. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerDVDDiagnostic
    6. Reboot the computer and check.
If you still face the issue, reply to this post with more information.

    Hope it helps,

Online video streaming stops after few minutes of playing

    Hi all,

Thanks for your time on reading this post.

I'm experiencing a video playback issue when accessing streaming services like Netflix, Binge, Curiosity Stream and more.

    >>>>>But not with YouTube. YouTube works fine.

When I play a video content for few minutes (3-4 minutes) on a web browser it just stops playing. (Not buffering, not freezing, not pausing). Then I have to close the browser window and restart the video !

This has been happening for more than a year now.

    • Below are some details of my setup.
    I'm using a Lenovo Yoga370 Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Corei7, 16GB Ram.

Everything is up to date including the OS, device drivers and web browsers.

    No Internet bandwidth issues.

    Kaspersky Endpoint security is running

    Windows defender FW is enabled.

    • Troubleshooting I've done so far.
Tried using different web browsers - MS Edge, Google Chrome, FireFox

    Uninstalled and reinstalled Web browsers.

    Rolled back windows updates.

Tried disabling Windows defender FW and Kaspersky antivirus.

Tried different playback qualities (SD, HD)

Tried using the laptop in different networks with different ISPs.

The other laptops and mobile devices in the same setup work without any issues.

I would be thankful if someone can help me fixing this issue.

    Cheers
