Video Stutter when gpu maxed out with HAGS Off

Hello, i remember some month ago, there was the opposite problem, when i had HAGS enabled any video on my second monitor while gaming ,and gpu reach 100% utilization , had frame skipping and lag... that was solved through nvidia driver, btw i had it always off until now, i have to turn it on for prevent this. Anyone experiencing the same?

i tried an older driver and the most recent of nvidia, the result is the same, then i think it's related to some windows update.

im using edge, windows is updated , and latest nvidia driver

All videos are stuttering in browsers

I have Windows 10 desktop PC (latest updates installed), AMD CPU and NVIDIA GPU. I started getting massive stutter in all videos in web browsers, including Edge, Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera. Basically looks like dropped frames and bad frame timing. I don't
notice a stutter in 3D games though. I also get a little bit of stutter in Windows Media Player when I play video files from my HDD, although it might always have been there. VLC media player stutters a lot too, but it always stuttered on my PCs. I don't know
how to test if it's only stuttering to certain file types or what.

I tested changing my GPU to an old NVIDIA GPU, and the issue persists with that card too... still stuttering.

I tried lots of fixes, ended up doing a clean reinstall of Windows, and issue persists. Chipset and graphics drivers are latest.

  3. Video Stutter/Audio Buzz

For the past couple of weeks I have been getting stuttering video and a buzz in the audio. It started with listening
to Spotify, the audio with just buzz for a few seconds then the PC would crash, no blue screen it would just restart. The reboots have stopped, but now the video is stuttering and when it stutters, there is a buzz in the audio.

It's a Ryzen 1600, ASRock B450 Pro, 16GB ram, RX 560 GPU. I updated the chipset, GPU and audio drivers. Nothing helped.Did the DISM and sfc/scannow, corrupted files
were found and fixed but the problem is still there. In the Reliability History there are several 117 and 141 errors.

Rebooting will fix it temporarily, but the problem eventually returns.

Video Stutter when gpu maxed out with HAGS Off

Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling in Windows 10 version 2004

@Brink it's HAGS for short. *chuckle

Seemingly it is only available on these devices at this time:

    • Nvidia GTX 10 series, 16 series and RTX 20 series GPU's
    • AMD RX 5600 and RX 5700 series GPU's

A few tests by users indicate that it can improve the 0,1%/1% low's, so it can feel smoother in games with it enabled, especially in CPU-hungry tasks, but worth noting that there's also quite a few people reporting issues with it, from framepacing (stutters) to overall worse performance depending on the game and configuration. Maybe it needs to become more mature and that it's too early to enable it? *Think
