Windows 10: Video System Failing and leaving me with Black Screen

I have a video system which is failing. Since Tuesday this week (13th) at random times the screen just goes blank. Today to ensure I got the right event I had to leave it for ten minutes before doing a reset to get my video back. I then searched for an Event 41 and searched back to about the time that the monitor blanked on me.

What I found was an Event ID 4101 with the description "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." This was immediately followed by an Event ID 263 with the description "A pointer device has no information about the monitor it is attached to." which I believe MAY be the point at which my video crashed.

The strange thing is that whenever the video crashes I have just got up to do something - this morning it was to fill up a water bottle. Strange but true as I've NEVER been at my PC when it's crashed. This has got me wondering whether something has worked loose. Odd but this is about the ONLY pattern I can fix to this problem.

Problem is: what do I do to fix it. I believe it to be hardware related which involves the monitors (2 off), the graphics card (a GTX760) or the mobo. Is there any way I can tie this down to a particular component, hardware or software?

PC goes into black screen and froze

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's not a software related issue which is why I was suggesting that you remove the video card to start with since it's such an easy process of elimination step.

I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs, I did see that you had listed in your system specs but I had no idea whether or not it has an iGPU

Is there any possibility of you being able to get your hands on any compatible video card at all?it would be the easiest step to try to troubleshoot or at least one of the easier ones. You should be able to get into the bios without anything but A display cable hooked up to the motherboard

 

windows 10 black screen after update and after leaving PC to sleep?

I've tried the steps you suggested but they don't seem to work. The black screen I'm facing is only when i try to shut down or leave my PC to sleep and its completely unresponsive no cursor or anything. I've tried things others have suggested but they don't
seem to work, Is there anything else?
