Windows 10: Video trim hangs after new update

After a recent update I can no longer trim raw video in photos. I have tried uninstall and reinstall. I have tried reset and refresh. I confirmed all privilege's are checked.If I trim an old 1080 res video it will work. But, if I try to trim a 4k clip, it just hangs. It actually produces a video file but it can't be opened. Tells me the file type is invalid.

Losing sound on Video Editor when undertaking a trim

Microsoft Photos now has a new video editor. Previously I could trim a video by a simple process and all was well with the trimmed version. Now I find that I have lost the sound when I undertake a trim using the new video editor; there is good sound on the untrimmed MP4 file . What steps am I missing please?
