    Video Will Not Run on PC 1 but runs fine on PC2


    There a few videos which will run on 1 of my Win 11 PCs but will not run on a second Win 11 PC. An example of a web site video having the problem is https://www.webmd.com/osteoporosis/guide/osteoporosis-exerciseWhen I right click on the video it is call for an Akamai Adaptive Media Player. Both of my Win 11 PCs do not have the Akamai Adaptive Media Player installed but yet runs fine on 1 PC. It appears that to download Akamai Adaptive Media Player it has a cost which I am not interested in paying.Please help me resolve the issue

    Please answer the query, mentioned below:


    • Can you run other games on the computer?
    I would suggest you to follow these steps provided below and check, if it helps.

    The issue is occurring due to outdated or corrupt graphics card driver.

    Method 1:

    You may also update the graphic card driver from Device Manager manually and check if this helps.



    •Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.

    •Expand “Display Adaptor”.

    •Right click on the graphic card driver and select “Update Driver Software”. Once this is done, restart the computer and check, if it works.



    If the issue still persists, follow the Method 2.

    Method 2:

    Install the latest Display adaptor driver and Graphic card driver in Compatibility mode:



    I would suggest you to uninstall and download the Latest the Display adaptor driver and Graphic card driver from manufacture's website and reinstall it in compatibility mode.

    1. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.

    2. Select Compatibility Tab.

    3. Place a check mark next to Run this program in

    Compatibility Mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.

    4. Let the driver to install and then, check the functionality.

    I would also suggest you to uninstall and download the Sims 1 deluxe edition game software from The Sims official game software website and reinstall it in compatibility mode.

    Try to follow these steps to uninstall the Sims 1 deluxe edition game software:

    1. Press Windows key + R, to get the RUN command.

    2. In RUN command Window, type control.

    3. The Control Panel appears, then go to programs and features option.

    4. In the programs and features option, go to the Uninstall or change a program and then, you can uninstall the Sims 1 deluxe edition game software.

    Does it work fine on the browsers?

    It could be due to missing/corrupt drivers or missing updates.

    I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

    Restart the computer a few times and check for Windows Updates.

    In the Search box on the taskbar, enter Windows Update, select Windows Update. On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates.

    Try to run the troubleshooter for Windows apps:

    Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store

    Also, update the Video/display card drivers.

    To update your display driver, you'll need to uninstall your current display adapter, and then check for driver updates.

    • Right-click the Start button. Click on Device Manager.
    • Expand the Display adapters section, right-click the listed adapter, then select Uninstall. Select the Delete the driver software for this device check box, then select OK and restart your PC.
    • After your PC restarts, press the Windows logo key.
    • From Settings, select Update & security > Windows Update > Check for updates.

    As you are facing issues with Windows store download and Windows updates too, I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

    Step 1: Try clearing the Store Cache:

    • Press the Windows key + R keys.
    • In the Run window, type
      WSReset.exe
      and click “Ok”.

    Step 2: Also I would suggest you to run
    Windows Store Troubleshooter and check if it helps:

    1. Type Troubleshooter in the
    search bar
    and click on it from the list.

    2. Click on view all and select
    Windows Store Apps
    and click next.

    3. Follow the onscreen instruction.

    Step 3: Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

    I suggest you to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter. Follow these steps to run Windows Updatetroubleshooter:

    • PressWindows key + W and type troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • ClickWindows Update troubleshooter.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
    • Check if issue persists.
    Step 4:

    I suggest you to check if the services responsible for Windows update is running. Refer to these steps:

    • Press Windows key +R, type “services.msc
    • Locate the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the
      Windows Update Services and check if it is running.
    • If not, right click on the service and click start to start the service.
