    installing visual c++ 2017 redistributable cause BSOD video_dxgkrnl and driver power state failure

    hello I have Laptop ACER Swift 3 SF314-54G with specification :

    Intel Core i3-7020U

    GeForce MX150

    RAM 8 Gb (4gb Onboard and extra 4GB)

    Windows 10 1809 latest build

    Latest Nvidia Driver (417.71)

    latest bios version from Acer website

    My problem is whenever I install visual c++ 2017 redistributable, my visual c++ 2015 redistributable always got replaced by visual c++ 2017
    redistributable and after that, my laptop got BSOD video_dxgkrnl and driver power state failure

    is this bug or what? because my visual c++ 2015 always replaced with visual c++ 2017

    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD issue

    Hi Sumit,

    I uninstalled the driver and updated the driver from computer maker site but on finishing installation itself,I got VIDEO_DXGKRNL BSOD error.To my surprise,however I am not able to see the minidump files in the folder for those.
