Windows 10: VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR whenever I close a Program

Hello,


I get the BSOD VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR, whenever I close a game or a program like Unreal Engine 4, once it restarts, windows deletes all of my graphics drivers and my Geforce 870M is displayed as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.


Things I have tried:

- Use DDU to uninstall all nvidia drivers and reinstall new Nvidia drivers specifically for my Graphics Card 870M from their website

- reset PC

- sfc /scannow didn't find anything


Reinstalling the drivers does register my graphics card again, but I get the VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR again, when I close a program/game, which just brings me back to the beginning.


Has anyone been able to fix this problem?

IE11 immediatly reopens itself whenever I close it out.

We suggest that you follow these steps to clear the Windows Store cache:

• Press the Windows key+R keys to open the Run dialog.
• Type WSReset.exe, and click on OK.
• The Windows Store and a command prompt will now open without any message. The command prompt will automatically close when the Store cache has been reset.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

How can I quickly close many Windows/Programs?

I find that the fastest way to natively achieve this is like this:

1. Click on the desired program in your task bar
   
2. alt + F4
   

This is quicker because you close precisely the programs you wish to close where as alt + tab-ing through your programs forces you to step over unwanted programs causing you to endure more time.
