Windows 10: Videos Do Not Play Properly In Windows 10 Without Constant Restarts

Lately in Windows 10, no videos, whether online or on my system, will play properly after the computer has been idle for a while. Only restarting the system gets the videos playing properly again, so I have to restart multiple times per day to continue watching videos.There is motion in system videos, but no audio, and neither audio nor motion in online videos across all browsers.What could be the reasons for this?Thank you.

I suggest you to check the same issue on Internet Explorer. If the issue still persists then follow the link given below.

Flash Player may not be enabled on your computer. This might be a reason of the audio and video not playing properly. Adobe flash player comes embedded in Microsoft Edge. You don’t need to install it separately. You can try enabling
and Testing it again following the steps provided in the below link.

The player gets updated with Windows Updates. I suggest you to login to a Microsoft user account, and try installing all pending updates on the system and restart to check if the issue persists.

1. May I know, which video player you are using to play the video?
   
2. Are you able to play the video on any other computer?
   
3. Are you facing the issue with only specific video or with all the other videos?
   

This issue could also occur when the USB or SD card is corrupted when you have transferred the video.

Try the troubleshooting methods provided below to further narrow down the root cause of the issue.

Method 1: Try a different video player.

1. Try to use a different USB to transfer the video, if you are playing it on other computer or device.
   
2. I suggest you to try a different video player and check if it plays.
   
3. You can also check on different device or computer.
   

Step: Run Windows Media player troubleshooter.

1. Press Windows + R key on your keyboard together.
2. Copy and paste the below command and run each at a time and follow the onscreen instruction on the troubleshooter
3. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerConfigurationDiagnostic
4. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerLibraryDiagnostic
5. msdt.exe -id WindowsMediaPlayerDVDDiagnostic
6. Reboot the computer and check.

Videos are not playing properly online

I didn't make any changes to my windows 10 system prior to the issue. I can't play videos. When I open or try to play a video stored locally or videos online or even a u tube video, it doesn't respond or play. The videos stand like picture. But the videos
are playing properly after downloading with IDM.
