Windows 10: Videos Randomly Stalling

    Videos Randomly Stalling


    I'm using Windows 10 and recently I have noticed when I play videos using programs such as Windows Media Player, VLC etc. videos will randomly stall and load for minutes at a time and sometimes they play for a few seconds and then stall again. I have tried multiple files, sometimes a file that stalls will work if I close it, then wait a while and try again. If I watch videos on youtube or just on a browser in general, there is no issue. I have tried updating my graphics drivers and well as completely uninstalling them and reinstalling them. I have tried restarting my pc.

    Video's stalling after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello

    I followed the link you provided and went through the check list and in safe mode. The issue occurs in "regular" mode and safe.

    And as I said it doesn't matter whether I am watching on You Tube or steaming on a website.

    I can't watch a video for more than few seconds without it freezing/stalling then it "thinks" for a few minutes and starts again from the point it left off.

    Any suggestions?

    Load this checklist video in Edge: (I'm assuming you did at least a few of these steps, since you stated you tried other suggestions earlier) Go through the list of suggestions here to try to repair YouTube for Chrome...

    Can't get Youtube to show videos in Chrome

    I haven't gotteen to this suggestion yet - but, I've shut down half my Extensions and, now, I get the voice of the Youtube videos - but still not the video. Thought this clue might help.
