Windows 10: Videos seem to sometimes cause laptop to freeze

Recently I've been running into a weird problem. Sometimes, when I play videos on my laptop, my screen freezes for a good 15 seconds with the video audio still playing, and then the screen goes black for a few more seconds, before going back to normal, although with the screen's colors slightly different, almost like the display settings were reset. And then, whenever I try to play another video, the same thing happens again. I can only solve this by restarting my laptop.

I tried to figure out what causes it, and the most I'm able to tell is that it has to do with videos. Other than that, I'm not sure.
