Windows 10: Videos will not play

Maybe you should try rolling back the drivers. I had the most recent GeForce drivers installed. Finally I just installed the Windows Vista driver for my Video Card and it runs a lot better. That's one thing I noticed about windows 10, the allows you to install older drivers if you have older hardware. And that's probably better than using whatever they provide in updates, etc. And in fact, I installed all of my original chipset drivers which were designed for windows seven and everything seems to work a lot better now.

 

This seems like more of an issue then a browser or video drivers now, maybe at the beginning it did.

 

You are right, only reset might help. Or the poster might try to run my bat file as admin. *Nerd

 

Does that invoke the standard DISM repair command? I'll try it on my machine. Oh, it invokes a full reset? Well, maybe if my system gets hosed badly.

 

Yes and some basic commands, I tried to include a full chkdsk, but that requires restart.
So far people, who have tried it, never reported back, either fixed it or ... who knows. *Biggrin

 

Well I don't want to do a reset, you have a version of that script with the reset removed?

 

Let him try SFC and Dism regular old fashioned way first, then he can also try inplace repair upgrade without loosing all.

 

Just to make sure your system is "clean" I suggest also running ADWCleaner.

A friend recently had issues with playing video clips in browser. We disabled "Hardware Acceleration" in the flash player.

Edit: Whoops, I didn't read all the way through the posts. It was already suggested.

 

Which happens sometimes, some only read the last few posts, heard of ADWcleaner it is a good one, so was some thread starter used.

 

It worked. Music and videos played

 

Steam is loading fine. Just wish I knew what the hell was wrong.

 

Question is what worked ?

 

Resetting Windows 10 Have to redownload a shit ton of programs but it was worth it considering how it seemed to be getting worse.
