Windows 10: videos

Hello

I have Windows 10 x 64 and am having trouble getting videos lightened, then transferred to disc.

[I have one flash drive with a lot of photos I want to put on disc, eventually.
I also have a flash drive I want to put on disc, eventually.]

* Right now I have a folder on my desktop which has 10 videos of Christmas.

I need to get some of these videos lightened up.

I have Irfanview which is hard for me to understand.

I also have VLC.

Then here is Windows and I cannot find any video fixing or playing there for 10.
I think I have too many hard programs and not enough know how.


In a nutshell, which programs do I need to most easily lighten videos then burn to disc and be able to play both photos and videos from the disc?

I am pretty sure it doesnt.

But did you mean it is saved as:

.fla not flv?

maybe .swf ?

flv is not standard flash format.

standard is either .fla or .swf.

What type of videos, .avi, wmv, mpeg..etc.. ? What do you mean by lighten ? Plenty of free Burning programs, each are different to there capabilities to burn photos and videos efficiently, as better ones are not free this matters to the videos you mean to. Meaning lightening as editing a video ?

I am an amateur. I have taken some videos with both my Canon Powershot A4000 IS and a few with my Galaxy S5.
I have then all on a flash drive which I will burn to disc as USB not DVD so I can add more and others can play it.

Now the goal is to take the folder with 10 videos on my desktop and make 5 of the videos brighter as they are too dark.
Once the folder is ok, I would add it to the flash drive and burn the whole flash drive to a DVD-R.
It seemed to have worked in the past except I never had to brighten any of them.
I hope VLM can play them.

Well i can say i am not familiar with type of videos that are made from this camera or Galaxy S5. When you plug the Camera or Galaxy S5 into the PC if you either put cursor over the file will tell you type of file extension it is, as examples i gave before. So basically want to put these an another USB Flash Drive ? Then just drag and drop to the other USB drive or copy and paste. As far as them playing for others not sure, on which device will they use them on ? As far as editing the videos do not see a way in Windows 10 unless you have a third party software to do this. That is part i am not sure by the type of videos files they are when burning to a disc will they play properly on VLC then. Your welcome Peter !

 

The absolutely easiest and totally free way to do exactly what you want to, adjust the brightness of your videos, would be to download and install the free Windows Movie Maker and use its Visual Effects > Brightness tool:




Download Windows Movie Maker: Get Movie Maker - Microsoft Windows. On download page, select the the top most alternative, Windows 7 & 8.1 version. It installs and works nicely in Windows 10:




When installed you will find it in Start Menu > All apps > M > Movie Maker.

It just said I need codecs but I don't understand.

 

Reasons i asked about extension at end of the files you are trying to do this with, if right click the file and select properties you will see the extension, e.g. .avi, .wmv, .mpeg. Seems Windows movie maker is missing Codecs needed for these files you are using.

A codec is software that is used to compress or decompress a digital media file, such as a song or video. Windows Media Player and other programs use codecs to play and create digital media files.

 

Windows Movie Maker opens most of the common video and audio files without an issue, no additional codecs needed.

Some of video and audio file formats you can open with Windows Movie Maker:

• Video files: .asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mp4, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, .wmv
• Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, .wma.

 

I right clicked >properties and it says .MOV for each file.I just need to brighten videos that were taken in insufficient light.
Do you have a fairly easy program to do that?

 

And i do not see .mov on Kari's List. Either need to find a program that supports it or program that converts video to another format from .mov.
