  1. Viewing Registry Items and Values

Hello MS Community, I can view various items in regedit.exe but I am unable to find these values using powershell. In Regedit.exe I have more file paths than shown when trying to navigate powershell. When using Test-Path to find these folders it comes up false, but I am able to edit them in regedit.exe.

  3. How to restore registry values?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

You can perform system restore and check if it helps:

    Perform System restore.

I suggest you to perform system restore and select a date prior to the changes which was done with the registry values and check if the issue gets fixed.

    To perform System restore:

    • Press Windows key + X, select
      System.
    • In the left pane, click on System Protection.
    • Select the option to system restore
      > next. It will show all restore points already created.
    • Select the date prior to the date on which you have made the registry changes.

    Viewing Registry Items and Values

    Hello Nick,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

This is a known limitation of Test-Path command and is documented here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/mo...

    Quote “ Important

Test-Path does not work correctly with all PowerShell providers. For example, you can use Test-Path to test the path of a registry key, but if you use it to test the path of a registry entry, it always returns $False, even if the registry entry is present.”
