Windows 10: Views And Replies. What's The Difference?

That's a question I have always asked myself. Let's say your a newcomer making a post asking a question to solve a problem. You have, maybe, 500 Views. And you only have 2 Replies! Does that make the 498 Views unable to solve the problem? Or not willing? Or Afraid their answer may be wrong and make them look bad on this forum? For the new ones, This forum is for help and no matter your expertise or inexperience "Say Something" You won't get beat up for it. Who knows! You may fix an individual's problem! And that feels Pretty Damn Good! I thought I would make this post to let the new one know... Your Replies Count! Jump in with no fear and say what you have to say. My Rant...

setting default view for Winodws Explorer Search Reasults

Thank you for the detailed response. To change the search result's view from content to list, we suggest following the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.

My reply no longer showing in the conversation view

For better assistance, have you installed an update prior to this issue?

One possible reason why you're encountering the issue is the disabled conversation view. To enable the conversation view, please follow the steps below:

• Open the Windows 10 Mail app.
• Click the Settings icon (gear image).
• Under Settings, click Options.
• Under View Settings, turn on Show messages arranged by conversation.

How to Change the Group by View of a Folder in Windows 10 tutorial

The delay to reply was unrelated to this topic. I was preparing to add a disc drive. The preferred view is working now, and here is the step by step list of what I did, and it includes an additional step at the end. I also rebooted after each step.

1. Reset all views to default.
2. Rebooted.
3. Changed the "My Pc" view to Details and set the "Group By" to [None]. But left everything else at default.
4. Rebooted.
5. "My Pc" view retained the selected setting, alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.
6. Switched to Drive C:\, set it to "Details" and changed the column order to "Name, Size Type and Date". Grouping is available but not applied by the default settings.
7. Rebooted.
8. "My Pc" lost the settings, reverted to "Tile" and "Group by" was active again.
9. Reconfigured to "Details" and set the "Group By" to [None].
10. Rebooted.
11. "My Pc" view retained the selected settings. Alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.
