Windows 10: Virtual Agent just gets me a run around and never get to "talk to an agent"

For a month I've been trying to rectify a issue with file explorer only displaying default icon. This has been going on for a month and its via usb hub. Using a google Phone. When I want to download to Photos I can't figure out whether the picture is worth saving.


This has been like the last 4 weeks. Google verified it not their end or phone causing the issue. Directed me to contact HP manufacturer of this laptop. They troubleshoot till they informed me its a windows 10 system error and I should contact them.


Well trying to get support from windows the virtual agent tries to pinpoint then gives me talk to an agent. I type that in as instructions say and there is where I hang. No response or continuation. No wait in line nothing. Very aggravating to be dumped just like that.


Support for support in null here it just a run around.

Virtual Agent: country not listed

I tried to schedule a call using the virtual agent but my country of residence is not listed.

Is there any other way for me to get help?

Thank you for responding, Wayne. However, there is no need to explain to me where the virtual agent is, or that "It is simply a method for asking questions and seeking help from MS." I know exactly where it is and
what it is and what it is supposed to accomplish.

I have asked this silly popup a multitude of very simple questions, none of which have ever been answered appropriately. It has never helped me find any kind of solution.
Furthermore, the "Hi I'm your virtual agent" that pops up on my computer screen
DOES NOT collapse after a few seconds, or minutes for that matter.

It is not only worthless, it is worse than worthless, and it obscures part of my screen. I would not complain if it would really
collapse after a few seconds, or if it would really
help me find something when I ask it a question.

I would be very happy if you, or the virtual agent, or Microsoft, or any other person or entity would get rid of this ridiculous and annoying popup; or simply provide me with instructions as to how I may disable, close,
remove, turn off, or otherwise kill this awful abomination!

"Try the Virtual Agent (PREVIEW) button is a feature and part of the

web page that Microsoft provided to the users in case we need extra

assistance. It is part of the design of the web page and there's no

option to disable it." That is the problem... in my case, when I try to

do a screen print of important technical info I need to solve a problem,

this feature blocks part of the text that I need. I have to cut & paste

to get around it. It's 2017... this might be a programming error I might

make in 1980... but not user friendly now. Let me know if you need

any help in your programming department.

Cannot type in microsoft virtual agent

Might ask Cortana to start the 'On Screen Keyboard

Maybe you'll get lucky and that virtual keyboard can talk to microsofts virtual agent.
