Windows 10: Virtual disk with bitlocker since lately always missing at wake up Win 10 22H2

My machine Win 10 22H2 has an extra drive, which is a hard disk image file .vhdx protected with bitlocker.This worked fine for months, but lately after some update? the drive is always missing after wakeup. I can manually mount it again w/o problems but it is a waste of time each and every time. Event viewer Custom Views->Device Manager MS Virtual Disk displays nothing the last event more than 15 days ago. I believe it is a recent bug. What can I do to remove this problem?

Virtual Disk (VHDX) With BitLocker Enabled is Accessable Through Other Windows Accounts

Hi,

I created some virtual drives on Disk Management, then enabled BitLocker to protect my private data. When a disk is attached and unlocked on my account, and then a second user switches to another windows account, the second account is still able to browse
the disk content without being prompted for the BitLocker password.

The scenario I was expecting was, the BitLocker unlocking process would be in the account scope, so that the second user would be prompted for a password again. What can I do to cover around this issue to provide an account based security to my disk. I don't
want to detach virtual disks every time I left the PC. Anything you can suggest?

 

Virtual disk service wont start

I suggest you to start the Virtual Disk Service and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.
• Type services.msc and hit Enter.
• In the Services Window, look for Virtual Disk service and
  Stop it.
• Restart the computer and Start the Virtual Disk
  service and set it to Automatic.
• Restart the computer and it check if it works.

reinstalling win 10 x64 pro with Bitlocker with MINIMUM disk write

Hi, I have a win 10 pro x64 build 1507 system with bitlocker. My problems are

• The system won't update-- the reply I got here is that you have to do a fresh install. Redirecting
• The bit locker is working but not accessible-- it still requires the set password at boot, but once booted it shows the drive as unencrypted & NON-SED (Samsung EVO). That also means that I cannot change the password. Redirecting.
  Technet has also not been able to solve the query.

I've Now decided to do a fresh install. As far as I can understand, I have to proceed in te following way.

• Do a secure erase. that should(?) reset the bitlocker.
• do a fresh install from a USB disk.
• follow the same steps to reactivate bit locker.

I've 2 queries

• Will the sequence work as outlined?
• Is there any method to reduce the amount of disk write-- if I undertsand the process correctly on activating bit-locker, the drive is
  reencrypted using the given bitlocker password.
