Windows 10: Virtual Memory - Incorrect Sizing

Hi there,I have an HPZ6G4 with 112GB RAM running Windows 11 Pro for Workstations, which is currently used to run a gaming PC and also a number of VMWare Virtual Machines with a combined RAM of 55GB.I have recently been re organising my 2 x 2TB NVME storage and found a partition G: on the main OS Drive which Windows indicates has 68GB of Virtual Memory allocated. I've done some digging on System Properties -> Performance Options -> Virtual Memory and the System Managed number on the C: of approx. 9GB only.I analysed using Mem Reduct and it says I have 120GB of Virtual Memory allocated.I

Windows 10 recommend virtual memory sizes

I suggest that you go with System Managed Size rather than Custom Size. Windows will then be able to adjust the virtual memory size according to demand.

Suggested settings:
Place the dot in System managed size.
Check the box to Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
Reboot to maintain settings

 

Virtual Memory is low.

Steps to Increase Virtual Memory in Windows 10.

Step 1: Go to Start Menu and click on Settings.

Step 2: Now type performance on search bar and select Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.

Step 3: A new Window will open before you. Go to Advanced tab in it.

Step 4: You’ll see a Virtual memory section in it. Click on Change.

Step 5: If the current setting is considerably less than the recommended, unselect the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives box on this window and click on Custom size.

Step 6: Now enter the recommended value in the Initial Size box, and a larger figure in the Maximum size

Step 7: Click on OK to save the changes.
