  1. Virtual memory showing wrong memory allocated across all drives.

so i set my virtual memory today restarted the computer and saw this:there is also a C drive set to system managed, as you can see the virtual memory is 512mb while the minimum should be 12288mb, idk if this is an error a virus or something else, please help me to fix this issue

  2. How to setting up virtual memory in D drive instead of C drive?

Normally you would be able to change the drive to allocate the virtual memory unless it's encrypted or something related.

The steps continue from what I showed you above:

Sure, here are the steps enumerated:

    1. Uncheck the box labeled "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives."

    2. Select the drive (D drive) where you want to set up virtual memory.

    3. Choose the option "Custom size" and specify the Initial size and Maximum size for the virtual memory. You can set these values according to your system's requirements and the available space on the D drive. Typically, it's recommended to set the Initial size to the same value as the Recommended size displayed below.

    4. Click on the "Set" button, then click "OK" to apply the changes.

    5. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

On this case, are you able to set the virtual memory size on D?

    Virtual Memory

You should *not* turn off virtual memory. Two points:

    1. If you don't have a page file, you can't use all the RAM you have. That's because Windows preallocates virtual memory in anticipation of a possible need for it, even though that allocated virtual memory may never be used. Without a page file,
that allocation has to be made in real memory, thus tying up that memory and preventing it from being used for any purpose.

    2. There is never a benefit in not having a page file. If it isn't needed, it won't be used. Don't confuse allocated memory with used memory.

Windows successfully diagnosed the condition of no virtual memory.

    Hi, AleksanderBR

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are experiencing issues related to virtual memory. There are times when Windows automatically allocates to virtual memory may not be sufficient for you to use certain software, in this case, you can try to set it manually:

    1. Open System Properties:

    • Right-click on "This computer" or "My computer" icon and select "Properties".
    2. Access Advanced System Settings:

    • In the System Properties window, click "Advanced System Settings" on the left side.
    3. View the performance settings:

    • Under the "Advanced" tab of the "System Properties" window, click "Settings" in the "Performance" section.
    4. Open the virtual memory settings:

    • In the "Performance Options" window, click on the "Advanced" tab, then locate the "Virtual Memory" section and click "Change". Click "Change".

Adjust the virtual memory to the size you want to use.

Furthermore, you can submit your ideas and suggestions about Virtual memory through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.
