Windows 10: Virtual touchpad option under taskbar settings keeps turning itself off after I close settings

I constantly switch between on and off touchpad, and because I don't have a shortcut key on keyboard, this would be very helpful. Another thing I need to mention is that even if I toggle it on, it doesn't show up on the taskbarI use windows 11 Home Single Language Version 21H2 on HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk2xxx

Taskbar - to restore to default settings

To change the settings for the icons on your taskbar, follow the steps below:

• Right click on your taskbar.
• Select on Settings.
• On the pop-up window, look for the Combine taskbar buttons option.
• Click on the drop-down arrow and choose Always, hide labels.
• Once done, you can now close the settings window.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps you finding the settings for Synaptics Touchpad.

• Press Windows + X keys, select Control Panel.
• Select Large view in Categories.
• Select Mouse and select Synaptics touchpad
  in the tabs and check if you can find the settings for it.

Virtual touchpad feature missing

Hello,

i have installed creators update, but virtual touchpad feature is missing. Option is not available in righ-hand context menu on taskbar, in "settings - device" touchpad category is missing as well. When i enable feature in "settings - taskbar - turn system
icons on of off", nothing happens. Registry value in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Touchpad\TouchpadDesiredVisibility" is set to (1) but that´s all. Windows 10 64-bit, version 1703, build 15063.332. Any idea? Thanks very much for any help.
