About VIRTUALIZATION SETTINGS in BIOS./UEFI, Windows Features on/off, msinfo32I use VMware & Virtual Box primarily, although sometimes I may use WSL2... but I NEVER use Hyper-V.If in a PC - I use many PCs - use ONLY VMware & Virtual Box - how do set settings the correct way? note: using without problems now but I don't know I use settings ok...see shots as is now:especially concerned about msinfo32 RED BOX...Settings --- which is correct?======

  2. msinfo32 - different in VT-x Settings why this, and how to do similar all PCs as the second screenshot?

    Thanks for updating me.

Please let me know if you have tried the methods below

    1.Enable VT-x in BIOS/UEFI:

Restart your PC and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, DEL, or ESC during startup).

Navigate to the section where you can enable Virtualization Technology (VT-x).

    Make sure VT-x is enabled.

Save the changes and exit the BIOS.

    2.Verify VT-x in Windows 10 and Windows 11:

    Boot into Windows 10.

Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.

Check the "Virtualization Enabled in Firmware" field to ensure it says "Yes".

Repeat the same steps after booting into Windows 11 to verify the setting there as well.

By ensuring VT-x is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI, it should be reflected in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. If you see different results in msinfo32, it might be due to how each OS handles virtualization features or specific configurations within each OS.

  3. virtualization is enabled in bios/uefi but not in windows

    Hi

I'm trying to use the new WSL2 in windows 10 update 2004. Unfortunately I cannot install any linux distro or hyper-v because windows thinks my cpu does not support virtualization. Intel virtualization is enabled in bios/uefi.

    system specs:

x299 board with intel i9-7900x cpu

    virtualization enabled in bios

windows 10 enterprise with update 2004

    hyper-v not installed

    wsl2 installed and defaulted

VIRTUALIZATION SETTINGS in BIOS. UEFI, Windows Features on/off, msinfo32

Confused - am I booting in UEFI properly - msinfo32 shows I am but..?

What I can't understand is that with CSM off and Secure Boot on there are "NO" device entries in UEFI boot list other than "Windows Boot Manager"! They are in the Sata Information list but not in the Boot list area. See attachments:
