Windows 10: Virus and hacked

My computer was locked out 3 days ago and they asked me to call a Microsoft number to fix it. When I called that number a guy named Bryan Brown who also gave me his HP ID # picked up and said my computer has been attacked by hackers and now it has several viruses. He asked me to go through some steps and made me download ultra viewer. I had to work an assignment so I had to cut the call after an hour. He seemed extra friendly and I couldn’t tell if that was a fake number or not. Anyway, long story short, he called me the next day and again went though some steps. After that he never called me

Did you scan with Adwcleaner and the Emsisoft Emergency Kit?

Did you follow all of the suggested steps in https://malwaretips.com/blogs/safesearch-net-removal/ to include scanning
with Zemana, Malwarebytes and if necessary with Hitman Pro?

The scanners that have been recommended should work on "Safesearch" hijacker and also on "some other virus."

Did you reset your browsers as suggested in my previous post?

If you do not wish to use the independent scanners (listed above) that I use when removing adware and PUPS from computers and you do not want to reset your browsers then you may want to reset your computer. Before considering this option suggest you

How the geodatabase file gets corrupted? Is this virus or hacking?

The data in our server gets corrupted as shown in the screenshot below. Is this virus or hacking? We got the L: [email protected] typed inside the data

What could be the reason?

Email Hacked

Hello Greg

thank you for your response and the great information you provided.

I use two step authentication for my email account and all important web sites. I also use the full version of Malwarebytes to protect my computer.

But I will do the scans you suggested AdwCleaner and Limewire.com and let you know the results.

I am worried though that the webcam installed on my laptop could have been hacked. I never use it and forgot about it, so never disabled it.

Any suggestions as to find if it was actually hacked?
