    so. I recently factory reset my pc and freshly installed windows, everything was working fine until I realized when I open V % T P it says: your IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app and the item you tried to access is not available. contact IT at helpdesk for more information. it worked perfectly fine before I reset my pc. I even tried to follow steps on a different post of the same issue I have; it did not work. I have no clue as to why it would be doing this and its really annoying. if anyone could help before I have to buy a different software it would be greatly ap

    My virus & threat protection is not showing

    I am writing to seek assistance with a problem related to Windows Virus and Threat Protection on my PC. Unfortunately, the feature has become invisible, and I am unable to access it.

    Issue Details:

    • Operating System: Windows 11
    • Problem: Windows Security (Virus and Threat Protection) is not visible.
    Steps Taken: I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Restarted my PC.
    2. Checked Group Policy settings.
    3. Reset Windows Security app.
    4. Ran SFC and DISM commands.
    However, the issue persists. I kindly request your guidance on resolving this matter. Could you please provide instructions or further steps to restore Windows Virus and Threat Protection?

    Hello there!

    Is there any other way to access the exclusion for virus and threat protection? I've tried to follow steps shown online but I cannot find the settings.

    Hi Valentin

    As an alternative approach, you can allow that utility through the Controlled Folder Access section of WIndows 10 security . . .

    Open Windows Defender Security Center

    Go to Virus & threat protection - Virus & threat protection settings

    Scroll down to Controlled folder access

    From there, you can add Dell Data Vault to the list of safe or allowed apps to prevent it from being blocked

    Please do not leave Controlled Folder Access turned off permanently
