Windows 10: Virus lock on my browser.

One of my computers has a virus that has locked up the browser. It provides a screen that says it is from Microsoft Support and asks me to call a phone number to get it unblocked. There is also a box that pops up saying its from Microsoft Security [MICROSOFT EDGE] describing the previous page and saying my name and password would be sent to an insecure connection. The response options on this box are 'OK' or 'CANCEL'. I have refrained from doing anything or pushing any responses to either screen until I can figure our what to do. Is there a simple fix that will get rid of the virus and release my browser?

Did you scan with Adwcleaner and the Emsisoft Emergency Kit?

Did you follow all of the suggested steps in How to remove SafeSearch.net & SafeSearch Search (Mac & Windows) to include scanning
with Zemana, Malwarebytes and if necessary with Hitman Pro?

The scanners that have been recommended should work on "Safesearch" hijacker and also on "some other virus."

Did you reset your browsers as suggested in my previous post?

Presume you emptied temporary internet files, restarted the computer and tried a Quick Scan with your resident antivirus program?

Did you seek advice/assistance from your antimalware provider (Avast, Avira, McAfee, Norton, etc)?

Any new browser extensions that need to be disabled/removed?

Any new program installed that you need to remove?

edge locked by virus

Edge has locked up and displays message: "contact for virus removal" Virus and malware removal programs have not fixed the problem (spybot, avira, malwarebytes, windows malicious malware program removal tool.) Any suggestions?
