Windows 10: Virus & therat protection is turned off permanently.

My virus & threat protection is turned off permanently.I haven't installed any dedicated anti-virus protection. whenever I try to turn it on, it says "restart now", when I click it, it shows: I don't know how to resolve it.Note: I have windows 11

Turning on spyware and virus protection

I have Windows 10 and have been advised that both my spyware and virus protections are not turned on. I have tried to turn them on but to no avail. I do not have any competing protection installed on my computer. Please advise as to how to proceed.

I would suggest to only turn off virus protection for a short duration such as during the installation of an app that can't be installed otherwise.

The steps to turn off windows defender are:

1. Select Start button > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > virus & threat protections settings

2. Switch Real-time protection to Off. Note that scheduled scans will continue to run. However, files that are downloaded or installed will not be scanned.

 

Cannot turn on Virus protection

My virus protection cannot be turned on after the latest update of Windows. There is notice about unexpected error everytime I try to restart Virus protection (In the security center, it said that threat service has stopped and I need to restart). I have
tried many methods suggested in the Internet but none work. And I dont install any other virus-protection progam like Norton or Mcaffe.
