    Hi need some help urgently My daughter has a new HP laptop which is now coming up saying its got lots of virus etc, I had to take it out of S mode to install some printer drivers, but forgot to turn this back on !It's saying contact Microsoft on a very weird number and McAfee is out of date etc and a whole manner of other pop ups .I'm not really sure what to do and my daughter is really concerned that she's going to lose any important work and the laptop is only a week or so old.Really hope someone can assist,as I'm not totally clued up how to sort this out other than taking to someone else, w

    Once the virus is removed just use a reputable antivirus program like AVG. I suggest AVG because it does check usb devices for viruses automatically once you stick the usb drive into the usb port.

    • Do let us know the make and model of your computer?
    • Have you installed HP simple pass software on your computer?

    Try the below steps and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to download the latest HP Simple Pass software from the manufacturer's website install it and check if it helps.

    Step 2: If you have already installed the software, I suggest you to re-install it and check if the issue persists.

    Follow the steps to Access Recovery Manager:

    • Press Start button from the keyboard, type Recover Manager.
    • Select Recovery Manager from the list when it becomes available. Allow the action to continue, if prompted. The
      HP Recovery Manager opens.
    • Click Software program re-installation, Next , select
      HP SimplePass for the listing and then follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall application
