Windows 10: Vivaldi

........... has improved dramatically since I last trialed it. My default was IE but been reading so many bad things about it, and noticed a few quirks myself decided to go on the hunt again. So, now we shall see what we shall see with Vivaldi. I am in 10 forums now via vivaldi, very quick to open. *sarc

Windows Update downloading something on my Laptop

Vivaldi is a browser. I stop the WIndows Update service.

Forget about Edge. It is lousy and Microsoft doesn care. Try this new one Vivaldi

 

Vivaldi is good, but Puffin for windows is better : more quickly, less memory consuming and you can surf anywebsite without using any VPN.

 

Never heard of puffin - are you by any chance, the designer *Biggrin What is its engine ?

couple of things still not sorted. 1. speed dial - how to get it to open, or not open. 2. Saved passwords. It refuses to save Ten forums password. When I click on speed dial 10 forums opens??

 

add delete button to speed dial tabs and delete them.




speed dial off = set startpage to something else.





then set new tab page to home page





To restore speed dial set home page back to display start page.

Hit login button.





You should then see this screen where your password is remembered by Vivaldi.

 

Also check that passwords are not being cleared [CRTL+SHIFT+DEL]

 

Call: passwords, they are ticked - even ten forums but there are several sites that have my password saved. I have just had to log in again to answer. I got that yellowed screen, for first time. If I choose to stay in, why does it make me 'log in'? Show delete button is ticked already in speed dial. My query is how to bring it up as speed dial. When I click on speed dial it goes to win 10 forum!!!

I am going to Cyprus first thing, so will have to leave it till I come back in a week.

 

Well speed dial should show tiles or tabs that can be individually deleted. Personally I delete them all.

Passwords: Maybe try this extension?

Just noticed that if Vivaldi has remembered your login you should be able to start typing in the username field and you get to choose username. Click password field and it populates.

anyone got vivaldi on laptop. it wont install on mine. says 'cant create temp folder and check for free space', only got over 400GB left!!!

 

Try Firefox 57.0.4 it will install.*chuckle
