Mine seems slow to load. Kinda a meh feeling about it, so I don't do much with it.
I will say it is very tweak able, lots of options in it.

Several days ago I never knew it existed. I'm using an SSD so it's smash-bang and it's up and ready to RRRRRUMMMMMMBLE. When it comes to Browsers, I think there's about two which would be Opera, Firefox, IE and Edge. I've definitely got to get out more. I was more so concerned about how secure it is but from what I can find so far, it's secure. Is there any other noble on this forum who has used it or has a positive or negative spin on it?

I've been using Firefox for years, mainly because of all the extensions it offered. But with the news that those extensions won't work from v57 due out in November I started to look at other browsers. I eventually settled on Vivaldi as it had some 'must have' ex Firefox extensions 'built in' as options. The rest of the extensions I want I've been able to find from the Chrome store. I've tweaked it's appearance to suit (including a nice Gray/Black theme) and it's now gone from 'test baby' to my full on browser. I'm really pleased with it. The only negative problem I had was importing passwords into it. In the end I added the LastPass extension to deal with them.

  7. I've been using Vivaldi for about 4 months, and I really like it.
I did have a slight problem a few weeks ago when it was slow to load up. I think perhaps some of the programs files may have been corrupted. I reinstalled it again over the top and that fixed the problem.
I have Firefox installed as well, but I rarely use that now.

Well, it appears then that I'm not the only who has discovered the secret of the Vivaldi. As of right now, I've got to say I'm impressed. How often is this updated?

At least it's updated as much as Edge then. Very good. Thanks for the replies!

  11. I tried it a couple of times, and enjoyed it, but one thing that I couldn't figure out is how to make the URL domain highlighted. The entire URL was always the same color. No main domain highlight like every other browser out there. Is that still the case, or is there an option to turn it on?

Bob, this is another new one to me. Highlighting the URL bar? Based on the amount of responses to your question, it appears no one knows. But I'm not sure what you even mean by highlighting the URL bar. I take it, it is where you simply type for an site address or even a search. If I'm following you correctly, as said, I've not heard of it. All I know is when I click in it, it highlights to a nice, refreshing, calming to look at blue. Isn't that delightful?

If you visit a site that has a string along with it the main domain is darker (I guess saying highlight is wrong). It lets you know what site you are on. Notice the text/info after the darker domain is a lighter shade (Using Chrome here).

Understood. I've been using computers since 1992 and never noticed that before. As you can tell, I'm very observant.

  15. Ha! No worries. I like to know the exact domain I'm on. I've see phishing scams where the target domain is in the string, but the actual fake domain is hidden after it. Vivaldi (when I used it) showed the entire string as one shade with no identifying domain marks.
