Windows 10: VLC playback slows down download speed

Hi,


I have a strange issue. When a file is being downloaded the speed shown is optimum at the start 5-6mbps but as soon as I start to play any video stored in the computer SSD doesn't matter what video player is used, VLC, or windows media player the download speed drops to 200-300kbps . As soon as I close the player, the speed is back to ideal.


what sorcery is this?

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.
  
• You may plug in the Ethernet cable if available and check the speed.

How to change playback speed in Windows 10 (TEN!!!)

Please follow the below steps to change the playback speed settings:

You can change the speed at which files play in the Player. For example, you can slow down the playback speed if you're taking notes while watching a training video, or you can speed up the slow sections of a presentation.

• Play a file, and then switch to Now Playing mode.

If you’re in the Player Library, click the Switch to Now Playing button in the lower-right corner of the Player.

• Right-click an open space in the Player (such as to the left of the
  Stop button) , point to Enhancements, and then click
  Play speed settings.
• Move the Play Speed slider to the speed at which you want to play the file, or click the
  Slow, Normal, or Fast links.

To select speeds between the labeled play speeds, in the Play speed settings dialog box, clear the
Snap slider to common speeds check box.

3. To hide the settings, click the Close button in the
Play speed settings dialog box.
