Windows 10: VM import boots to blinking cursor only in Windows 11, ok in Windows 10 & Server 2022

Phone system vendor has a prebuilt VM to import into Hyper-V, RedHat OS but not sure of details as it's hidden. I can import it and see a 'press key to get to boot options' but once that's past, it simply shows a blinking cursor. I've tried it on two different Windows 11 Enterprise and Pro and same result. Both are running Hyper-V Manager 10.0.22621.4249. I tried importing it on a Windows 10 system running 10.0.19041.1 and it works fine, also in Server 2022 running 10.0.20348.1 no problem.What can I do to resolve this?

WINDOWS 2022 /20H2) SERVER DATACENTER REMOTE APP BUG

Hi Microsoft,



Hi have a cluster 2022 SERVER CLUSTER with DataCenter Edition with 20 VMS on a BIG CLIENT.



Some VMS are with the version 2022 DATACENTER.. FULLY UPDATED TO 20H2 VERSION



The VMs that have FULL UPDATE and host REMOTE DESKTOP GATEWAY start doing a very borring issue.



All of the CLIENT USERS are connect via REMOTE APP SSL .. after UPDATES if the user stays IDLE for some time the screen BLINKS but it does not lose conection...



All of others VMS that have REMOTE DESKTOP GATEWAY and dont have the Updates on the same cluster .. are WORKING OK with no BLINKs..



I instaled a new VM with 2022 server no UPDATES .. instaled RDS and Gateway .. IT WORKS ..



I Instaled a new VM with 2019 SERVER on the same CLUSTER .. IT WORKS ..



I nstaled a new VM .. with 2022 SEVRVER do all the UDPDATES on it until 20H2 .. Instaled RDS Gateway .. IT BLINKS ..



It only does it with REMOTE APP .. with RDP SESSION it works fine .. no blinks .. no network error .. all OK ..



Only on RemoteAPP .. only on 2022 SERVER DATACENTER ..FULLY UPDATED..



Mircrosoft .. please do something about it .. a quick fix..



Updates that brokes REMOTE APP RDP is very problematic for your partners..

Cursor stops blinking

By the way it seems that there is a rate of blink about applications, you can check some of them over here :

Notepad Cursor stops blinking after 5-6 blinks.
Windows Explorer Cursor stops blinking after 5-6 blinks.
Total Commander Cursor stops blinking after 5-6 blinks.
Microsoft Office 2016 Cursor stops blinking after 30-32 blinks.
Microsoft Edge, inside Google search box Cursor stops blinking after 10-11 blinks.
Microsoft Edge, inside URL bar Cursor stops blinking after 5-6 blinks.
Firefox (in URL bar, also inside web pages) The cursor did not stop after 50 blinks. Seems to work OK.

Just tried on my new computer (Windows 10) and it's the same of Worpad, maybe it's just normal *Smile

• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
