    Vmmem CPU and memory usage are very high


    Hi.


    My laptop is a Dell i7 with 16M running on Windows is 10 Home Edition uptodated, which is constantly overwhelmed by this one process vmmem, which consumes, on a regular basis, 6-7MB of RAM, but it escalates up to 12MB and I just can't tell why. This issue started very slowly 2 months ago but now it is unbearable and I can't do my job anymore in my own laptop. Nowadays I reboot my system twice a day to allow me to work.


    I checked the event viewer for errors or critical messages but find nothing and my task manager constantly points to this vmmem as the higher offender of the system.


    Since April/20 I have installed wsl2 and docker, and for that, I joined to Microsoft Insiders Program in order to have a Linux system along to my Windows. And it was working perfectly...

    System and compressed memory high CPU usage

    HP pavilion Windows 10 home. The process System and compressed memory runs with high cpu usage. The computer is almost frozen and in some cases restarts. I have seen a lot of discussions on this issue. I have tried few things but whithout success. In safe
    mode the computer works well.

    Is there an article that presents the steps to be followed to solve this problem?

    Glad you reached out. First, we would like to know if Explorer.exe
    is the only cause of high CPU usage. Because the common cause of high CPU usage are the following:

    - Windows 10 Memory leak after the update.

    - Driver incompatibilities after the update.

    - Multiple startup applications
