Windows 10: VMware Error about Credential/Device guard ON/OFF on Windows 10 Home Edition

Since the upgrade to Windows 10 Version 1903, I am unable to open Virtual Machine using VMWare Workstation Player




Have looked at the Enable/Disable Credential Docs page here - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/identity-protection/credential-guard/credential-guard-manage#enable-windows-defender-credential-guard but it did not give specifics to fix the issue on Home Edition.

VMware Error about Credential/Device guard ON/OFF on Windows 10 Home Edition

Since Spring update the VMware giving error while running the Ubuntu OS, "VMware Player and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Player can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard. Please visit http://www.vmware.com/go/turnoff_CG_DG
for more details."

But after going through troubleshooting, I came to know that it is only for Windows 10 Enterprise or Education edition only, while I use Windows 10 Home Edition. I don't get an option of device guard to disable neither in group policy editor nor there is
Hyper-V option in windows on/Off feature settings. Please help me to get this problem solved.

 

Turn off Credential Guard or Device Guard

Whenever I try to run a vm in vmware,it gives this error:

VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard.

Any help?

 

Credential Guard

When will Credential Guard be supported on the same Windows 10 Enterprise device as Barkly and VMWare Workstation Pro.

It would be nice to be able to run these products without sacrificing Credential Guard.
