Discus and support Vmware on HOST W10 Machine Networks don't work in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; Hi there trying various VM's on a HOST W10 under VMWARE WORKSTATION 10 -- (XP / W7 / W8.1 / W10 / Linux ) -- all these fail to start network either...     Vmware on HOST W10 Machine Networks don't work


    Hi there

    trying various VM's on a HOST W10 under VMWARE WORKSTATION 10 -- (XP / W7 / W8.1 / W10 / Linux ) -- all these fail to start network either in BRIDGED or NAT mode.

    If the HOST is now a W8.1 system connections all work for these machines

    Still looks like Networking problems exist in W10 -- whether it's Windows or in VMware I don't know.

    Maybe it's time to try out HYPER-V !!!

    Free VMPlayer compatibility with Windows 10 as the host OS

    I did the Windows 10 update not knowing about any potential issues regarding VMware Player version 6. At first it seemed to work ok but I could no longer connect from my XP virtual machine to my SQL Server running on the Windows 10 host. After reading
    this and other similar messages I found VMware Player version 7 that is still free for non-commercial use and have so far had no trouble with any network connections or SQL Server connections between Windows 10 host and XP virtual machine. (Link to VMware

    Windows 10 anniversary update: networking problem with VMware

    Since installing the anniversary upgrade (on the host machine), my VMware guests cannot connect to the network any more (bridging or direct NAT). This is very annoying since I'am running Windows 10 preview builds in a VM.

    Virtualbox versions later than 4.3.12 running on host W10 will not start any VM either. virtualbox.org • View topic - Windows 10

    I prefer Hyper V but can't install it as I don't have SLAT so old version of VirtualBox for me.
