Windows 10: VMWare startup problem on Windows 10 home

Discus and support VMWare startup problem on Windows 10 home in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I have a problem of loading up my Linux RHEL 7 in VMWare on my Win 10 home laptop.     VMWare startup problem on Windows 10 home


    I have a problem of loading up my Linux RHEL 7 in VMWare on my Win 10 home laptop. It states the error of credential guard not compactible with vmware. please help..... As there is not group policy editor in win 10 home, how do i solve this problem ?

    VMWare startup problem on Windows 10 home

    Hi DerickDmello,

    My name is Carl and I am an independent Windows 10 advisor.

    1. Click 'Start'

    2. Type 'Command Prompt' then click 'Run as Administrator'

    3. Type:

    bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off

    (This will disable HyperV and also disable Windows Sandbox)

    4. Restart your computer and you should be able to run VMware Workstation.

    To revert everything back just follow the above but change step 3 to:

    bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype oon

    This will disable VMware Workstation.
