VMWare WKS 14.1.3 Unable to open kernel device \\Global\vmx86 ...

    Hi folks

If you get this error (seems to randomly appear with WKS14.1.3 - (seems not a good build -- will revert back to 14.1.2 or even 14.1 I think If I find any more defects)

Follow instructions on this French Site (English instructions also n the site)

Vmware Workstation - Unable to open kernel device "\\.\Global\vmx86" - Tutodidacte.com

Happened to me on 2 different Host machines -- followed instructions as specified - system and VM's OK again.

    Cheers
    jimbo

VMWARE WKS - 12.1 Enable printing ?? Solved

    Hi there

VMWARE WKS 12.1 seems to have an error on both LINUX and WINDOWS Hosts.
If you try and attach a printer to the VM you get "Printing must be globally enabled" message in the VMware VM configuration.

There's nowhere to set this !!!!!.

Any way of adding it manually to the actual vmx (config) file itself --often there's options you can set in that which don't appear in the vm gui editor.

Edit : Fixed -- you need to choose edit--->preferences in the VM menu -- Documentation not clear !!!! for PLAYER it's in File. ???

Another issue - can't get Bridged networking to work on Anniversary build (W10 build 1607).

    Cheers

BSOD when running VMWare Player after Creators Update

The minidump files showed a consistent Unknown bugcheck code (e0000001) that appears to be caused by the vmx86.sys.

The vmware-vmx.exe is the process that crashed.

As the vmx86.sys and vmware-vmx.exe are components of VMware there may have been a corruption in the installation if the VMware software was present during the upgrade.

In any event try uninstalling VMware.

Then apply the following update for Windows 10:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4022716

    The reinstall VMware.

If the issue persists consider posting on the VMware forums.

The Unknown bugcheck code (e0000001) with VMware has been reported before although it appears to be rare such as:
