    Guys,

I had been happily running VMware Workstation 14.1 for quite a while, host and guest were on W10 Pro 1809.

Upgraded the guest to 2004 over the weekend and was told on restart that there were compatibility issues with the version of Vmware.

Upgraded that to 15.5.2 and reinstalled latest tools into the guest.

Was having issues when using the snip and sketch tool that it would lock up the VM completely - this was happened on 3 seperate occasions - task manager on the guest did not work to force a close - the only recovery was a reboot of the VM from the VMware menu.

I have now upgraded the host to 2004 and am waiting to see if this makes any difference - on first test it seems better - has anyone else experienced this

All hardware is identical - just the software upgrades performed.

Running on a Dell T1700 with 32GB RAM and 4 x 500GB Samsung EVO Pro 850s - stock Nvidia Quadro adapter and onboard Intel Ethernet

    Craig

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Snipping Tool on Windows 7

All it is is one extra step beyond what is native to windows 10. Yes, technically it would be easier to have the functionality of print built in to the Windows 7 version, but you just have to save it ,and right click on it ,and print.

As far as getting the windows 10 version into windows7. I know there was a way to get the old winpaint, so maybe there's a way to get the snipping tool into 10, I don't know.

im curious if i could compress, and upload the application to this post? 7zip doesnt seem to be allowed

    Windows 10 Host -- Windows 10 Guest Hyper-V -- GPU not detected

No, the RemoteFX adapter provides good enough 2D/3D acceleration just fine. Not software in any way, it is full hardware 2D/3D acceleration.
I am not using a generic driver in the Host OS, nor in the Guest OS in any way.
Host OS has latest AMD Radeon drivers, Guest OS - the matching RemoteFX drivers.

I am not 3D rendering or playing heavy games in the VM, of course. *Smile VMware WS, WIndows 10 2004, GUest and Host - Lockups - with Snip tool :)
I do not use or need Linux here. Windows 10 Host, Windows Guests.
