Windows 10: Vob.last file extension

I'm trying to play movies I have downloaded on my computer and they won't play because they show a Vob_last extenstion. I try to change it in the default app. but it tells me there is no app for it in the Microsoft store. Any ideas on what to do to fix the problem?

I am also experiencing Windows 10 File Explorer crashing when accessing a folder with VOB files, but in my case these VOB files ARE video (DVD) related. The crashing with access to video VOB files not only occurs with File Explorer, but with any other application
(e.g., the Cyberlink Power Director video editor).

Will the fix that you're implementing also address all files with the VOB extension?

Hi folks

Windows 10 file explorer and folders are crashing when a file with a VOB extension is highlighted (hover) with the mouse pointer, right clicked or left clicked . These are not video files, they are object files from Vue 2016, a 3D program. The problem
does not occur with VOB files that contain video.

The problem occurs on every drive in any folder with a VOB object file from Vue.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Please reply if you have assigned a default player to open .vob
file type?



You may be facing this issue due to not assigning proper media player to open
.vob file type in the operating system.



I suggest you to follow the steps below to assign a media player for
.vob file type from the Settings page and check if the issue is resolved.

  Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Settings
  and select the top most search result.
  
• 
  Click on System option from the window and select
  Default apps from the left side panel of the screen.
  
• 
  Scroll the page down and click on Choose default apps by file type.
  
• 
  Locate and click on the .vob file type from the window and select an application to make as default player from
  Choose an App window.
  
• 
  Close the window and check if you are able to view the
  .vob file type videos.
