voice access repeatedly freezes it has to be restarted the world recognition is weird increased RAM from 8 GB TO 16G dell inspiron 7706 two in one after install not much improvement and definitely not in those areas * Moved from Community Center

There's a possibility that the Messenger app may have not been allowed to use your computer's camera and microphone. To sort this out, let us configure your privacy settings. Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Privacy.
2. In the left pane, click Camera.
3. If you're using the Messenger app, then toggle it On so it can use the camera.
4. If you're accessing Messenger through a browser, then select the browser and
   toggle it On.
5. One done, click Microphone in the left pane.
6. Toggle On the Messenger app if you're using the app, or the browser if you're accessing Messenger through a browser so it can use the Microphone.
7. Close the Settings window and then test if you're able to do voice call on Messenger.

New Messenger app for Windows has microphone access problems

This is similar to the issues seen with Messenger running on a web browser, but I'm creating a new thread because it was so long ago and Windows 10 has been through many releases since then.
A Summary of the problem:
Upon launching the app, and starting a call (audio or audio+video) an error screen appears:






Following previous advice, I checked the Microphone Privacy setting (through Settings > Privacy > Microphone) and find that Microphone is turned ON, but also it shows it was accessed at the time I launched the Messenger app and got the Microphone access error.


I have checked that the Microphone is working under Windows (Settings > System > Sound > Input) and can see Microphone ribbon moving when I speak.




Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

 

MSSQL and Web App

So for class I have to make a Database using Microsoft SQL Express 2014. I have made the database and a few tables, populated said tables.

Now I'm looking into what I have to do to make a web app that would look nice for any users wanting to make use of my Database. How does the work I do in MSSQL get added into a web app and what/how do I make a web app that works with MSSQL? I know sql has its own code but how does the web app make the queries?

If someone can point me to some good books or sites to read that would explain / teach that would be great too.
