Windows 10: Volume, brightness, screen capture and other function buttons not working.

Whenever I use one of these functions, my mouse displays the loading icon and the windows menu flashes off and on. I am using a laptop, and I know the keyboard is working properly. The function buttons work fine when I use their fn functions, so I know that the issue is coming from the software. I have tried running several different troubleshooters, but none of them resolved this issue. Is there a fix for this?

Sleep function disappeared after Creators update also screen brightness buttons stopped working

After creators update sleep function does not work, power options has no option for sleep.

• In Start>Power sleep does not show, only Hibernate Shut down and Restart.
• Cannot change screen brightness, buttons stopped working, Action center lost the screen brightness button, Windows Mobility center brightness control has no affect.

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons.

• Incorrect settings.
• Corrupt or outdated display driver.

Now, please follow the below suggested methods and check if it helps.

Method 1

Follow these steps to run the windows in built troubleshooter:

a) Write Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.

b) Click on Troubleshooting
tab.

c) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.

d) Select the Power from the
Troubleshooter.

Method 2

I suggest you to download and install all the available Windows Updates including Optional Updates. Check if it helps.

Method 3

If the issue persists, I suggest you to uninstall and re-install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall display driver.

• Right-click on the Start Button and click on
  Device manager.
• Double-click on Display Adapters to expand.
• Right-click on the display adapter driver that is listed and select properties.
• In the window opened, click on drivers tab.
• In the drivers tab, Click on Uninstall option.

Step 2:

Now re-install display driver from the manufacturer website.

Brightness Function button not working after update

Hi, recently my windows 10 laptop had an automatic update. After which, my brightness function button does not work. My other function buttons are still working, only the brightness isnt. Please advise.
