When I switched to other applications, they uses the main Windows volume. 2. Audio volume cannot be changed while Youtube Video is playing.

    Model: Nokia Lumia 920

    OS version: 8.0.10211.204

    Firmware Revision: 1232.5951.1249.1001

    Hardware Revision: 1.0.0.0

    Radio Software Version: 1.0.202075.3

    Chip SOC Version: 8960

    Bug Reproduction Steps:

    • Use Bing to search any video
    • IE10 goes to the Youtube
    • Play Youtube Video
    • Even the audio volume is up to the max or down to zero, you still can't feel volume changed.
    • If I long press "<-" hardware back button to go to App Switch Screen, and change the volume at App Switch Screen. Thus, the volume of the Youtube Video will be changed.

  3. Change the name of a Volume

To change the name of a volume on your computer, you can follow these steps:

    1. Open Finder and go to the "Devices" section on the left-hand side of the window.
    2. Find the volume that you want to rename and right-click on it.
    3. Select "Get Info" from the drop-down menu.
    4. In the Info window that appears, you should see a field labeled "Name". Click on this field to select it, and then type in the new name that you want to give the volume.
    5. Press Enter to save the new name.
The volume's name should now be updated, and you should see the new name displayed in Finder and any other applications that interact with the volume. Note that changing the volume's name will not affect the data stored on the volume, but it may affect the behavior of some applications that rely on the volume's name for certain operations.

  4. Volume changed when I switch to specfic application

Audio changes volume when changing what window is in front/selected.

    Hi NorthernXY,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

I understand your frustration. It sounds like you are experiencing a common issue with Windows 10 audio settings.

The possible cause is that Windows 10 has a feature called volume ducking, which lowers the volume of other applications when you are using a communication app, such as Skype or Discord. To disable this feature, follow these steps:

    - Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select **Sounds**.

    - In the **Sound** window, click on the **Communications** tab.

    - Under **When Windows detects communications activity**, select **Do nothing**.

    - Click **Apply** and **OK** to save the changes.

    - Check that audio enhancements like "Loudness Equalization" are disabled in Sound settings. These can cause volume changes when switching applications.

Let me know if any of these suggestions help resolve your volume changing issue when switching windows and apps!

    Your Sincerely
