Windows 10: Volume icon keeps disappearing even after I fix it via HideSCAVolume

As the title says, the volume icon keeps disappearing from the tray bar!

I know what the fix is - to re-enable the volume icon at the tray bar from the settings,
though this button is grayed out in my case, and the fix for it is changing the value of "HideSCAVolume" at the registry from 1 to 0.

I keep doing it every 1 week or so, but I don't know why this "HideSCAVolume" keeps getting set to 1 (every 1 week or so)!

Anyone can assist?
Do you think it has something to do with bluetooth headset which gets connected every now and then?

Disappearing volume control icon on taskbar

This issue might occur if there is change in volume icon settings.

To assist you better, please provide us the information below:

• Have you checked the issue with other user accounts?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to turn off and then turn on volume icon. Check if it helps.

Method 1: I recommend you to try to turn on the system icon for volume by following below steps.

1. Click on Search bar.

2. Type "Turn system icons on and off" without the quotes and click on it.

3. Turn off and then try to turn on the volume icon
from the list.

If the issue still persist, refer to the method below.

Method 2: Try to update the audio driver in the Device Manager and check if it helps.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on Enter Key.

3. Expand Audio inputs and outputs.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

Had this same issue and none of the suggestions here worked, this/these (after restart explorer, the icon will be in the pop-up section, you need drag it out of there to see it all the time)

Setting group policy

gpedit.exe

User Configuration

Administrative Templates

Start Menu & Taskbar

Open "Remove Volume Control Icon"

Set to disabled

If that does not fix it, create a text file and save it as volume.reg

copy VV into it, save, double click, answer yes x 2, restart explorer, that should do it..
