Windows 10: Volume Mixer doesn't remember app settings when new instance loads

One particular small app Microsoft Solitaire Collection does not remember its volume settings when it plays ads. The app loads a new, separate instance every time it plays an ad which happens randomly between games. Every time this happens it blasts my ears out at top volume or whatever the overall system setting. 1. I do not mean the in-game Settings options for sounds/music. This works fine. Lowering or muting these settings does not change the ad volume, however. 2. Muting or lowering the volume of the app in Volume Mixer accessed by right-clicking the taskbar sound icon only work

I guess it's mosly a general question then an audio question so i think it's the right subforum

I have tried this portable softare nirsoft AppAudioConfig v1.15 , and I have seen there are lots but really lots of uninstalled apps and sandboxie apps (programs i have run under sandboxie ) in the list

AppAudioConfig v1.15 is similar to SoundVolumeView v2.20 , but it does list all apps with sound mixer settings ,it does 't allow me to remvove these apps that i haven't anymore

may I ask (seeing i have 't found a tutorial in this forum or w7 forum) there is a way to reset the volume mixer of all the programs?

and Is there a way to remove all these apps (removed or started under sandboxie) settings from the volume mixer easly seeing they are lots

Build 1909 not remembering volume levels in the Volume Mixer

I recently updated from 1803 to 1909 and I've noticed that the Volume Mixer does not store volume levels for any apps and instead just resets them to 100% if they are restarted.

This was not an issue I experienced with 1803, I've already tried seeing if it was just an issue with my user profile/registry by testing on a newly created user profile, as well as attempting to fix it by adding a missing registry key as suggested in this reddit post.

I've also tried simpler steps such as reinstalling my audio drivers and using a headset with a USB soundcard (HyperX Cloud II's) but these were also unhelpful.

Actually, ignore this - I created the registry key mentioned in the reddit post above under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE instead of HKEY_CURRENT_USER, creating the keys in the correct location and restarting my PC fixed the issue.

For anyone else with the same issue just follow the steps in the reddit post given in the OP, i.e. create the following registry key(s) manually:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\LowRegistry\Audio\PolicyConfig\PropertyStore
