  1. Volume on laptop jumps from loud to very soft repeatedly Does not happen through heaphones

I have had a volume problem for a few weeks now My volume on laptop jumps from very loud to very soft repeatedly. This does not happen through headphones!! I have tried every fix I can find including some answers on here but I cannot get a permanent solution to this problem A couple of fixes did work for a very short time but then suddenly off it goes again So annoying and I am fed up having to use headphones. I did notice today that my volume slider goes down by itself sometimes but the volume itself still changes even when the slider does not move.

I've followed every suggestion eg repairing drivers, communications set to "do nothing", enhancements OFF, unticked "Allow applications to control etc"

If anyone has anything else I could try please let me know

    Thank you

BTW my laptop is an HP Pavillion and only a few months old

    :)

  2. Clicking item in jump list for Microsoft apps does nothing

    Hello,

On my Windows 10 PC, at first jump lists worked as expected but for the last 2 weeks if I click any item in a jump list for a Microsoft app it does nothing. For example, if I use the jump list to go to a pinned folder in File Explorer absolutely nothing
happens. The same occurs for Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. The strange thing is the jump list works as expected for Chrome.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can resolve this? I use jump lists all the time out of habit, so its very disruptive to my workflow having this behavior.

    Thanks,

    Derek

Earphone volume too loud or too quiet on Windows 10

Hi I'm having a weird problem on my laptop running Windows 10 Pro. The earphone volume is either too loud or too quiet, and seems to switch between these two upon every restart. When it's too loud, keeping it at 1/100 is equivalent to 20-30/100 when sound was normal, when it's too quiet, keeping it at 100/100 is equivalent to 10-20/100 when sound was normal. Already googled extensively and tried pretty much every suggestion I found with no results:

    • Enable/disable loudness equalization in playback device settings
    • Enable/disable Windows Sonic for headphones in playback device settings
    • Check for errors in sound devices in device manager - no errors
    • Update sound drivers - all updated
    • Try different earphones - tried like 4 already, definitely not an issue with earphones
    • Even tried system restore, still not fixed

Does anyone know what else to try?

Lumia 900: Speaker volume too loud, headphone volume too soft

Yeah same, just upgraded from Focus to Lumia 900. The volumes are all messed up, key taps too soft, headphones too soft alarms too loud. I like in WP7 how alarm volume is independent and increases with times, this worked well on my Focus, but on this phone
it startles me awake and I had to test it a view times just to make sure it gets louder if you ignore it. And it does, but too little too late!

I like the simplicity of only one volume control but c'mon Nokia... Get it right for those 4 million handsets out there! I'ma go twit at 'em.
