Windows 10: Volume slider changes, but actual output volume remains very loud?

As of recently on my Dell XPS 1300, the volume output on the built-in speakers of my laptop are staying at the highest volume. I can adjust the volume slider and the setting number will change, but the actual output volume remains extremely loud even at the lowest setting. When I am connected to headphones or an external speaker, the volume slider works normally. I'm only having an issue with the built-in speaker output.Does anyone know how to fix this?

Volume slider does not change the level of loudness

Hi! I've been experiencing that my laptop volume slider does not work. It doesn't change it volume it only stays at 100% volume even it is only set to 2%, but when i mute the volume the sounds will be muted. It does not let me to change the loudness of my volume. Does any one of you experience this type of problem and how to fix it? I'd already factory reset my device still no changes.

But, when i play spotify or youtube, etc.. When i adjust the volume on the volume slider of youtube or spotify it let me change or turned down the volume.

What are the differences in the quality of sound output when the volume is changed in the following environments:

• Windows 10 volume slider in bottom-right corner
  
• Media program such as VLC player when playing a music file
  
• Media program such as Spotify when streaming music
  

Is there any difference between the 3, e.g., would turning down the volume using Windows 10 volume slider be any different from turning down the volume using the VLC inbuilt volume slider?
