Volume slider does not affect sound volume at all

I use HP 14s-fq0011au with windows 11 version 22H2 Build 22621.1344The volume slider does not work at all, it will not impact the output sound volume. My work around is by going to volume mixer and use the volume slider for the apps. how to fix this ? I already use the latest update from both windows and HP support

    :)

  2. Sound sources not showing up in volume mixer / app volume controls setting main volume

    Hello again,

I am still having the same issue. Here are the steps I have taken so far:

    * Tried windows media player. Result: it works as expected, generating its own entry in the volume mixer.

    * Tried updating the sound drivers in device manager. Result: they were already the latest ones.

    * Uninstalled the sound device and drivers in device manager and then reinstalled the drivers on reboot. After reboot, I again checked the driver status, but it the latest had been reinstalled.

    * Tested the netflix app, netflix in edge browser, amazon video in edge browser. Result: As before, there is no separate entry in the volume mixer, and the app's volume slider only affects the master volume of the sound device.

    Did I miss any suggestions?

  3. Master volume slider doesn't affect volume?!

    Hi,

Taskbar or keyboard controls for volume slider does not work for controlling audio. I always have to open volume mixer and tune specific app volume to control volume. I'm on Windows 10 but i had this problem on Windows 7 too. For my audio i'm using USB-audio
running to an amplifier through a DAC . For volume control i have to use my amplifiers controls but sometimes it would be nice to use the keyboard or taskbar to control audio.

Volume slider does not affect sound volume at all

Windows 10 volume controls affect slider but not volume

I've had a problem for a while and have not been able to find a fix anywhere. When I close my laptop and leave it closed for a while, it will auto "shut down" (I say shutdown because I'm able to enter bios when I turn it back on, however it's a weird hibernation state as my boot is 1/4 of the normal time).

Upon loading into Windows my volume is pinned at 100%. My keys for adjustment work but only affect the slider. If I set the volume to mute or 0% and check the volume in the task bar, properties of current audio device, and the control panel for my audio card (Creative Sound Blaster) they all say that yes the volume is muted, when in reality it's not.

The following are the things I've tried in order to fix my issue.

    1. Diver update direct from Dell's website.
    2. Restart of Windows Audio, Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, and Sound Core3D services.
    3. Restart of Windows Explorer
    4. Scanning for hardware changes
    5. Switching the default audio device to another device (external DAC) then switching back.
    6. Inserting headphones (still 100% even when adjusting)
    7. sfc /scannow results are 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.'

    Temporary fix

The only "solution" I have found to work is a full system shutdown or disable and re-enable Sound Blaster Recond3Di audio driver. I would like to find an alternative solution that would fix the problem once and for all.

    System Specs

    • Model: Dell Alienware 15 r2
    • CPU: i7-6820hk
    • RAM: 32GB DDR4
    • Storage: 256GB WD NVME SSD Boot drive + 1TB Samsung PM951 NVME SSD storage drive
    • Audio card: Creative Sound Blaster Recond3Di (Driver: 6.0.100.2059)
    • Wireless: Killer Wireless 1535
    • Windows: Windows 10 Version: 1809 Build: 17763.437
