Volume slider does not change the level of loudness

Hi! I've been experiencing that my laptop volume slider does not work. It doesn't change it volume it only stays at 100% volume even it is only set to 2%, but when i mute the volume the sounds will be muted. It does not let me to change the loudness of my volume. Does any one of you experience this type of problem and how to fix it? I'd already factory reset my device still no changes.

    :)

speaker volume slider sound is too loud - how do i turn it down?

I have dug around the settings but can't find the solution.

In my laptop the sound levels can be changed via a taskbar icon - it brings up a volume slider. When I click on that slider the sound is very loud. If our external speaker is plugged in the sound is super loud. If you're trying to adjust the sound a bit
on a song, we are deafened by a loud "dingggg" as the cursor hits the slider.

How do I turn this down? There must be a way!

  3. WIndows 11 Update - Main Volume Level Cannot Be Changed on Realtek Speakers

    Hello

I have updated my Dell XPS-13 to Windows 11.

When running on the inbuilt Realtek Audio speakers, now the main volume controls (both the volume control keys and the volume control slider on the taskbar) do not work properly. The mute function works (click mute key or click with mouse on mute icon on taskbar slider). If I put the volume on, however, there is absolutely no change to the volume level through the speakers - i.e. 2% is as loud as 100%. The volume level is quite loud, I would say close to maximum if not at the maximum.

Volume control within individual apps works okay - for example, I can raise or lower the volume within my Plex app using the volume slider within that app. The one exception to this is Spotify (Premium) where, curiously, there is no sound whatsoever*.

If I run the audio through my Sony Bluetooth headphones then all goes back to normal and the main volume controls work again.

My Windows 11 build is up to date. In trying to fix the issue with the in-built speakers so far, following advice provided elsewhere, I have:

    • Restarted Windows Explorer
    • Restarted my Audio Services
    • Reinstalled the device driver for the speakers (Realtek Audio) and made sure it is up to date.
    • Run the Audio Troubleshooter
Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks.

    * This might just be a problem with Spotify, I haven't got around to looking at this yet.

Volume slider does not change the level of loudness

[v1803] Volume too loud on lowest setting

I changed the communication settings to do nothing, but this made no change.

Upon clicking balance under the Levels tab, there are 2 sliders, but when I move either of them, they both move, they are locked to each other. Also, changing the sliders changes the main volume anyway, which is linked to the headphones, so all in all, changing
the balance slider is just like changing the master volume, with the quiestest it can go to being 6/100, which is too loud.

I set the master to 30/100, and set all my programs to 3/100 in the volume mixer. Whilst this does work temporarily, windows seems to forget the setting very quickly when no audio is being played for a few minutes, and puts it back to 30/100, which is insanely
    loud.
